0.05 millimeters: Samsung shows super-thin OLED display |

Samsung aims at FPD International 2008, a trade show for manufacturers of flat screens, an ultra-thin OLED display before. It impresses with a depth of only 0.05 millimeters, so it is half as thick as a human hair. The display was previously thinnest of Sony in April 2008 display at the exhibition presented in 2008 in Japan and was 0.2 millimeters thick.
Despite the low depth shines the fluttering display with impressive technique. It has a resolution of 480x272 pixels and a screen diagonal of 4 inches. The contrast is 100.000:1 and brightness of 200 cd/m2 will be given. According to expert the display is so thin that it is in the presentation fluttered in the wind. It is not just for mobile devices such as cell phones and MP3 players capable but also as an e-paper. |
