iPhone: low price boosts the salesThe new 3G iPhone sold more than three times better than the predecessor. According to report T-Mobile sells 340.000 smartphones from Apple store over the countries since  July 2008. Most of them, 190,000, sold the network operator in Germany, the second largest market, the Netherlands.

According to the newspaper the data accelerator HSDPA and the possibility of determining location via GPS sales accelerate the sale. The more probable cause is however the sunk price. T-Mobile sells the iPhone with 3G contract from 1 euro, the predecessor still cost 399 Euro plus contract.

Overall, T-Mobile since the publication of the first iPhone to sell over 450,000 units. But apparently it gives more devices in Germany, with E-pluses 45,000 customers use the iPhone, however.

Worldwide 6.9 million people in the third quarter purchased the 3G iPhone. This corresponds to an analysis of market research firm Canalys a growth of 523 percent over the year. So that pushed Apple to Research In Motion passed to the second place in the global smartphone ranking. The first place continue with Nokia sold 15.5 million smartphones.
