(Point-to-Point Protocol Over Ethernet) Using the PPP dial-up protocol with Ethernet as the transport. Used by many DSL providers, PPPoE supports the protocol layers and authentication widely used in PPP and enables a point-to-point connection to be established in the normally multipoint architecture of Ethernet. A discovery process in PPPoE determines the Ethernet MAC address of the remote device in order to establish a session. If you prefer to assign it a static IP address rather than using DHCP, if you want to enable PPP authentication or want to change any of the default options. PicoBlue supports version 1.1 of the Bluetooth spec, and can allow up to 7 simultaneous users to connect to the access point. It works with standard TCP/IP networks and has one RJ45 10/100 Ethernet port to connect to your existing wired Ethernet network. The PicoBlue uses PPP protocol for client connections and has two external antennas and claims a range of 100 meters (a football field!) for PDA clients.
