Lithium battery

Type of rechargeable battery, lighter but also more expensive than the Ni-MH or Ni-Cd. Depending on the design and chemical compounds used, lithium cells can produce voltages from 1.5 V to about 3.0 V, twice the voltage of an ordinary zinc-carbon battery or alkaline cell.

But Lithium-ion batteries (sometimes abbreviated Li-ion batteries) are a type of rechargeable battery in which a lithium ion moves between the anode and cathode. Lithium ion batteries are commonly used in consumer electronics. They are currently one of the most popular types of battery for portable electronics, with one of the best energy-to-weight ratios, no memory effect, and a slow loss of charge when not in use.
